Glow plug suitability for 4M40's seems to be rearing its head on a regular basis, so I'm proposing a meet to have a look at the various types that are out there. I've hunted the 'Net for exact dimensions of the various glowplug offerings out there, but have come up empty.
I am currently running Hyundai Y722JS plugs, rated at 11V.
I'd be very curious if anyone out there has NGK CY55 (the current UK standard), NGK CY05, HKT CP-05, or OEM Mitsubishi plugs or ??? in their beast.
Perhaps we could do a little looky-loo comparison as part of a regular IKEA meet? If there's enough feedback, I'll propose an IKEA meet time. Only takes 5-10 min to pop one out.
Tony.

I'm down! I haven't been to a meet yet and I know I have issues with mine, still have the originals in from when it was a FOB.
I have no clue what condition they are or if they work. Maybe we could see how close yours are to the real deal (most likely what is in mine)
Let me know.

Tony.
Just installed the NGK CY-55 glows. Brought them in from the UK. Not cheap but seem to have the best feedback of all plugs available. Heading to North Van for family matters today. Will be there until Sun............................Kirk Out!

Hey Kirk,
Who did you go through in the UK to get your plugs?
Would you tell us how much you paid?
Cheers, dj

One of the UK members was kind enough to pick them up and ship them to me. The price of the plugs was $160.00 cad......Kirk out.
