Power Window Problem

Post by JdMcGrady »

I've been having a problem with my driver side power window getting stuck half way when putting it. When closing the window the first half is smooth sailing and then it gets stuck about half way. The odd time it won't happen but for the most part I need to give it a little help. Anyone seen this problem before?

It could also be dry or damaged window seals.Try spraying inside the seals with some silicone spray while working the window up and down.
You may have to remove the door panel and also adjust the regulator to see if it helps.
If not then as already posted it could be a failing motor/regulator.

It's a long shot but... have you recently replaced your armrest/door pull? The 2 big screws are a very close tolerance to the moving glass, if you over tighten them when replacing the handle the glass can catch on the ends of the screws.
Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

i had a window stuck permanently open. i took off the door panel and tapped the motor with a bamboo spatula (whatever is handy, right?) and then it was good again!

The multiple uses of bamboo never cease to amaze me.
From flooring to clothing to magic wands.
Wonderful stuff that bamboo.

Yeap I have the exact same problem except mine gets stuck about 3/4 of the way up and I have to help it by pulling it slightly forward and then move my hand out of the very quickly. Its a real pain in the wotsit when driving! But the strange thing is its not doing it all the time and sometimes it gets more stuck than others. I thought I'd attempt to take the door panel off this arvo to see if I can see anything obvious. But did you find the problem with yours? was it the regulator?
