L400 oil filter size and increased oil pressure

Post by joedelica »

Just had an oil change with a Wix oil filter 51675 which is smaller than the stock Mitsubishi.
I believe that there was a concern about smaller sized oil filters for the L400 engine. What I have
read is that many manufacturers have actually replaced various vehicles stock oil filters w/ smaller ones.
As long as the flow and the seal is good, are there any concerns? The claim is that the smaller oil filter
increases the oil pressure. Is anyone aware if this is true?

Thanks,

Joe
