I'd heard that too, but also that it was more do-able one way than the other (can't remember which). I was willing to make the move, but ended up changing the whole vehicle for the lights. Still, would be interesting to see someone give it a try.

Used the lights for the first time tonight on the highway
taking the kid to hockey.
Fracking Cylons Man!!
Very bright and nice.

I'm happy :)

After driving around in our lousy weather and the road crews
spreading salt and gravel I got to thinking.. boy would it suck if...
I got a rock in the new lights...

So I used some 3/8" lexan I had laying around.. (Can't say that too often)
and created a force field ;) It should be as resistant to scratches as
the normal exterior covers that come with vehicles nowadays but I won't
use my heavy duty scraper on them.
