when I gained stewardship of her, then
one day not at all........
So I had to open her up from the inside,
which kind of sucked. So if you are having
an intermittent sticking you might want to
kick this gremlin right in its little coin purse
before it makes you do "Cirque de Soleil"
style contortion act with a panel-tool from the
interior. You also have to take out the tool kit thinger
(some of the tools you can use to do this job)
and the window wash filler ect. Take your time
despite the positioning .
So after some swearing and such this is what you
get.(took the pic after I got it open) I made those cuts in the vapor barrier... This is the inside mechanism with the sliding (or sticking)part
one rod goes to open the door the other locks/unlocks
This is not the main problem area but I think it is a contributor.
I de-spooged with Wd-40 then lubed with some lithium white grease spray.. Above shows the area a little closer, the problems are through
the cut,up and to the right towards the outside handle and latch.. This is where the outer handle comes through and levers a rod to open or in my case not so much..WD40, Lithium. Above another closer pic showing the spring and lever that were
very stiff and had old hard grease on them. Above shot is the latch mech inside the door, wedged the camera in there,wd-40'd and lithium-ed the hell out of it,was quite dirty and sticky.... lubed up the door frame latch too...
Also graphite spray the locks through the keyhole..(not shown)
Anyway hope this helps.
Right On!
