Happy Holidays to all!
I have an annoying rattle, much like a fan on slow when starting the van and when idling at a stop.
I have looked under the hood where the sound may be coming from near the fuse box.
I have included a picture to ask what this item with th hose attached is?
Could this item be the culprit?
It sounds like a fan blade is broken and hitting something or something is contacting a blade as it is spinning.
Thanks,
Joe

Re: L400 driver's side rattle...
PROBLEM SOLVED!
It was the intake off of the air cleaner that is attached to the inside of the driver's side front fender (just hidden under the fuse box);
there is a foam grommet that crumbles away over time allowing the intake to rattle against the body. I just used 2 straps
to tighten it to the fuse box support and problem solved.
If you have any quirks suck as this one above, check out the UK and Aussie sites as they have had these vehicles for much
longer than we have, and they have discovered many of our future challenges to come.

Re: L400 air intake rattle...
If it still rattles, check the air intake pipe at the body (driver's side). There is usually a thin foam strip around the plastic intake pipe that presses into a hole in the body. When the foam gets worn down, you will hear the vibration/rattling sound mostly at idle. Solution is to replace the foam strip (Canadian tire).
