I just noticed that my transmission filler tube came out where it slips into the tube on the tranny, the snow has melted lots here and have gone through some big puddles so now I'm worried that some water may have gotten in it.
1. Can I just drain it through the drain plug and re-fill??
2. Should it be flushed out, then re-filled?
3. What type of fluid for a 94 Pajero 4m40, dextron III?
4. And how much ATF does it take?
5. I also need to find out where its supposed to be bolted to, because I see the bracket with the bolt hole on the tube, but not sure where its supposed to be bolted to?
Thanks
Joe

Hi, I don't have any idea how much oil it will take, but you can take a look at my Pajero to see where the tube is bolted on.
Mine is 93 2.5, but he transmission is Super Select. I believe it is the same as the newer 2.8 Pajeros.
I'm in North Van, but I work close to IKEA Coquitlam.
Cheers

Is the fluid red or pink and frothy? If its red you are god to go. If its frothy or pinkish need to flush and refill. Fluid you can use type III no problems there. Fluid capacity I will check my manual and get back to you. What exact tranny do you have and engine size. With that info I will get back to you. I also have a pajero 92 LWB 2.5L 4D56 turbo

Talked to cgi and drained the ATF and refilled with dextron lll and drove for a while and then checked the level with it in neutral and everything was good. Took a good. 4.5L to fill
The old ATF looked dirty but no water so all is well in Pajero land!
