I used to have a recording of a similar engine that needed maintenance. The crankshaft position sensor was failing, causing it to misfire badly. It sounded like it was falling apart...

No, I don't have it anymore. I just checked. :-(

No, you really don't want to throw one... especially since you know where the Piston would have to pass through on a L300 on its way up...
