HKT Glow Plugs, do not use them....

Post by Pajero »

Ok so its official, 6 months ago I replaced all for my glow plugs with HKT 11V. I just had to replace them again as the truck would not start, tested the glow plugs and found that only 2 of them would glow. Replaced them with the Hyundai glow plugs which were a bit longer...but its -5 out right now and the truck started faster than it ever has!!.

So it got me thinking.....what brand were the plugs that were in the Paj when I got it, so I grabed them remembering that two of them looked new and two were old and rusted....well after testing them it turns out that the two new ones were also HKT and they had failed, the two rusted ones still glowed red but took a bit longer.

So do not use HKT glow plug Its sucks wasting $100.00 :-x

In the early model ( before Aug 1993 ) delica L300 and Pajero with perfect working control system with 6.2V , our 11V Hyundai glow plugs basically do not work.

If you have a manual control system due to whatever reason , 11V Hyundai ones work and fit good.

Our 11V glow plugs work excellent for all 4M40 engine and late model L300 and pajero ( 4D56 ).

Hope this helps to understand the our 11V glow plug application.
