L400 replacement speakers

Post by prairiefire »

I was wondering if anyone could offer up some advice on what speakers to put into a L400. From my research I've conclude that the speakers are: 4" front, 6" front and 6x9 in the rear. Am I correct? What would be some good " bang for your buck type speakers"

thanks,

I had to replace my rear 6X9's because one was bad. More important than the quality of the speakers for the rear, I would go for how thin they are. The first set I got was too thick, and I could not put the sides back on. I recommend you take one of the 6X9's out and take it with you to the store when you shop for 6X9s to compare depth. Good quality speakers won't help if you can't fit them in the Deli! :-D

6X9 speakers that aren't too depth are hard to find, a nice dremel job in the inside of the panel plus a little pushing hard fits right in. Got 4 Kenwood speakers + ampli at Sonic Electronix for 185$ and sound is pretty good. Now I just need those 4'' tweaters.

I didn't wired the amp in the end because it was too much wiring and my head unit was almost giving the same power. For the price I think it's best bang for the buck. Otherwise, you'll have to find up to specs speaker and it cost a lot. So a little dremel, a little bending and you should be good!

PM if you need more info on set-up!
