I'm new at trying to raise funds, donations, to be exact. I have never felt comfortable doing so. I'm doing the ride to conquer cancer, which is a cycling journey from Vancouver to Seattle, and the goal is to raise money for that goes towards research. Would it be inappropriate to post on this forum a post soliciting donations for my cause, with links to my page and such? Had I not met a number of you at meets and other places, I would not even bother with this post. But I have enough respect for the forum that I don't want to do something that would seem inappropriate. What do you all think? Am I being silly?

Hey hey Congrats on signing up for the ride. I have done it the past 2 years and have signed up again this year. As for posting on here I did last year and had Jrman (aka sean steede) donate to my cause. Here is a link to what I posted

Delica folks are very good people and I would check with mark(the site owner/moderator) and see what he has to say. Before I posted last year I checked mark so that is the best way to go.

Once again congrats on signing up for the ride, I'm am finding it very hard this year as I'm finding at lot of people are participating this year. Thats a good thing though, the more money raised the better chance we can help change cancer for everyone.
cheers
