Buggered sliding door in Port Townsend, Wa.

My electronic lock on the sliding door wont disengage. Door ajar light stays on as well. Should disconnect battery to cut all power or is there another trick to get it open or directions to a thread fix?

disconnect battery and reset also check the contacts on the body (little metal pins)
