Hey Einstein,
Betty is a gasser she's the V6 3.0 liter. There is very little engine support on delica.ca for the gassers. It truly is a diesel party here. That being said I have yet to put together information on how unique our situation is compared to the diesels. Other than the engine there is a tonne of support. The Aussie site is more supportive to our engine needs then the Canadian site.
The power I get with the V6 is outstanding. As I'm in Calgary and make many trips to BC. Betty climbs the hills with ease. As far as the -40 is concerned I have no problems starting her. It boils down to block heaters and maintenance. You will need to put a little money into adapting your ride to Saskatchewan. Battery, Block Heater, Tune up, Synthetic Oil (Easier Start ups) etc.
One last comment my gas mileage sucks! 330kms a tank and thats with passive driving. Not sure how well you'll do with the 2.4lt.
Cheers,
aclarker

Re: spacegear in the works!
I'm still test-driving. Went for a scoot in a LWB 3.0 gasser the other day. It does go! Word on the street is that one should expect the mileage to be similar to the l400 diesel... I'm still leaning toward diesel, though, even though parts for the 3.0 are apparently readily available in Canada. My rationale is that, if properly taken care of, the diesel should last 'til the wheels fall off.
I don't know if the 3.0 is the same V-6 as my '07 Outlander has, but we average about 30 mpg with the Outlander in 2WD (averaged about 26-7 with our '04 Outlander 4 cyl). Our 07 has 150,000 km on it with no issues.
