Hi,
Recently my oil level ( not pressure ) sensor started having moods. It seems to be hanging and after engine is started the light does not go off right away, only after I turn up the revs . Once in a while it does not go off at all but it does after restart of the engine. I change my oil and filter every 10K and check the level - never go below half of the level on oil rod. Where is the sensor located ? is it easy to clean/replace ? anyone had something like this before ?
Thanks !!

How long since the last change? Most people on here change every 5k.

Never seen one with a level sensor...on this dash between doors and gas is the OIL Pressure warning light.

if it is the light on this dash it is for pressure (located side of motor near alternator if I remember right). Put a mechanical gauge on and check (hopefully just a sensor problem)

hey,
yes I am sure it is not the oil pressure
it is located on the right near the handbrake and water in fuel filter lamp and looks like this :
Last oil change was some 5k ago. Maybe I will do more frequent changes.
Also when I start the engine, the battery, oil level and water in filter lamps do not go off until I rev up. I hav the alternator rebuit about two weeks ago, could it be something with the alt ?
Thanks !

You should always change your oil & filter every 5,000 kilometres. Diesels need fresh oil ~ they are under a great deal of pressure at a compression ratio that is over twice that of a gasoline fuelled engine.Albert_N wrote:......Last oil change was some 5k ago.
