Driving in the USA

Has anyone taken their Deli's through the border crossing, if yes how was it ? Any bad vibes ?

i got searched once... but i think that had more to do with the 6 18-20 year olds coming home from a music festival mor than the vehicle. They opened the door, saw the mess, picked up a blanket, threw it down and handed me the keys. hahahha.

I had another good story i wrote on here where the wonderful american border personnel apparently couldnt see that the steering wheel wasn't in front of the person they were tlaking to... a good few minutes of "whos vehicle is this" "his" "wyh are you driving" "i'm not, he is" but why are you driving it then" "the steering wheel is over heeeere heelloooooooo"

alright that eases my concerns. Next concern is it seems like the 15 yr old Deli's might be short lived, with the laws changing to 25 yrs, and the risks of accident are 40% higher with right hand drive. I'm worried that these vehicles could become extinct.

ask your self this, IF they are ACTUALLY 40% more likly to be in accidents then WHY is the insurance FROM ICBC CHEAPER than for its north american counter parts, ie astro vans and such, that claim of the accident % is being challanged and so far ICBC has nothing to back that up with.
they sell insurance, its their job, if you wreck your car your prices go up right? if you were an investor , would you not ask why the rates for them is not 40% higher?

Its just propaganda based from Jimmy P and some of the other big investors that are heavily invested in the North american Disposable gas guzzler market. every time you buy an import, its a vehicle your not buying from the local dealer. and they have BILLIONS invested, not millions BILLIONS so they are trying to throw their weight around to make some changes and protect their mega bucks.

Changing the law is not a done deal, by any means. Don't give up so easily!

ICBC's "research" is nothing more than FUD. Have you actually driven a Delica? The accident risk due to RHD is nil because of the excellent visibility. My LHD Jetta has far worse blind spots than my RHD Delica.

I'm toying with a trip to Seattle and/or Portland in October. Boeing Surplus here I come! Powell's!
