Hey folks,
Doing some research about turbos for the L400 4M40, I came across this cross reference website:
http://www.dieselevante.it/turbocharger ... dfam=TF035
Any thought?
Would Subaru turbos be compatible?
Because I'm always thinking of doing mods to my van I'm always searching for those other parts etc...
Wouldn't be awesome to have a WVO 10 second!
Cheers mates
Antoine

The turbo on the 4M40 is perfect. I wouldn't mess with it unless I had access to a turbo/dyno shop.

Re: Turbo cross reference / TF035
I know it's perfect, but since teh incident in Banff where I had 15W40 in -35 temperature, It's been winning a diffenrent way and I'm just preparing for replacement! If I can find a turbo here I'd save me time and money. Subaru Forester are everywhere and the amount of totaled one give access to second hand parts for a very low price!jfarsang wrote:The turbo on the 4M40 is perfect. Just checking around!

I'm not sure the make of delica turbos but Subaru uses the brand name .... I H I turbo's as long as all the inlets and outlets match in size shape and how they are located Ie: the oil lines and coolant holes you should be fine

Re: Turbo cross reference / TF035
you'll need to match up more than that
you'll need to have the proper mating flange at the exhaust manifold and the dump pipe.
The stock L400 turbo is a plenty. Just bolt it in.
Personally, I would have my turbo rebuilt from ground up at ADP (Canada's turbo specialists) so that I have a guaranteed tuned/built turbo.
That is the ONLY place I would take a turbo to for a rebuild. If you see the machines they use for balancing/porting, etc... you would too.
