Rain Rain make my wipers work again

Post by NoDelie »

The trouble with the rain is my wiper have ceased. I was a bit late for work because of this. I had to take the arms off then the caps. Did the quick fix with WD-40 put the arms back on and off to Tim's . I would like to know if there is a better solution to fix this i am late for Tim's then work wiper problem.

What's the quick fix with WD-40
Are they not moving at all or just weak?

The quick fix was take wiper arms off and spray wd 40 on them then turn on and spray again this only lasts for a short time. So when it finally stopped raining i took the wiper motor out and the arms as well, the whole system apart. Just to find you can not take the rotating part apart. So got the drill and made a hole big enough to fit the jig a lube straw in. No more grinding or binding. I think will take it apart again and tap and die them so i can put a grease nipple, that should work best.

Well i made it through winter and the spring with my wipers not acting up. So i have redone them and lubed them with chain lube, all the joints where lubed, and drilled holes in the rotating parts and lubed that. It now works great in the rain.
