I'd be very interested in going but the dates won't work for me. I might save it for the next one in California, I think it's in October... And here's a picture from a past event to tease some of you guys, and it's even a LHD Pajero!!!
Cheers,

A Paj with Cali plates? Pajeros are importable legally to the US? Maybe that's what I should be looking for until I can import a Deli!

Hi All, The next Overland Rally is soon ... and nearby. July 26 to 29, 2012 (Thursday to Sunday), in Leavenworth, Washington (turn East at Seattle, drive 3 hours ish to a farm near Leavenworth. Buy pass online for $75 single person / $75 couple, for the entire 4 days and all events and trail drives. $30 daypass at the gate. Group Camping in the farmers field, byo food & water etc, and byo porta potty if you don't want a long walk to the proper portables.

We attended another Overland Rally in May, at Flagstaff Arizona -- we loved it. Heaps of useful demos such as how to recover a rolled car, how to remove an engine with a hoist and a couple trees, how to cook great camp food, talks by experienced overlanders, plus the product dealers had hands on displays. People welcomed others to look over their vehicles -- just like at Deli Meats, with hundreds of vehicles!
Leavenworth Rally is a regional rally, is smaller and more intimate than the national Arizona rally. Group Camping in the farmers field, byo food & water etc, and byo porta potty if you don't want a long walk to the proper portables.
Great fun! And you do not need a 4 wheel drive, as most of the demos are in the field by the campsite. The class list is online, but you do not need to sign up now, just wander to your chosen class when you get there.
Webpage info: Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in many exciting training classes and discuss all aspects of Overland travel, in a casual and relaxing environment. You will also have the chance to see new products, talk with manufacturers and get ideas and advice from follow travelers.
Event Features: ■On-site camping ■Trip presentations by fellow adventurers ■Vendor exposition featuring retailers and manufacturers ■Featured vehicles ■Overland Workshops ■Overland chef demonstration and training ■Wilderness first aid training ■Vehicle preparation, driving and recovery training ■Trip planning course ■Overland driving course ■Field recovery course ■Navigation (backcountry and international) ■Family adventure planning ■Communications and electronics ■Other workshops as requested by attendees.
Cheers, Christine and Jay.
