at the request of a customer i have designed a snow shield for in front of the rad.
the problem of winter driving (as well as basic off roading) in a Delica is the "shovel" that feed the air to the rad.
it scoops muds, seeds, snow, twigs etc and plugs the rad in short order leading to possible over heating and a cracked head.
this guard has be designed to still supply ample cool air and to go from the lower light bar down to the bottom lip of the "shovel". it is made from 1/8th aluminum and is a bolt on., no welding, cutting or other mods are required.
i should have pics to upload the end of next week...
moderator, if you feel this should be in another section feel free to move it over...
cheers M8s

sounds interesting... definitely need to see some pictures...
how badly do you think it would affect the vehicle to leave it on in the summer (possible overheating?)

Re: snow shield designed for the Delica
This weekend i went up to stave lake to test out the four wheel drive on the deli(which ended up being excellant)but on large ditches or big bounces the front of the deli would smash the ground(happend twise).when i looked underneith the transmission and that other air intake thing were rally bent up,more so just the grill on the front.would there be a way to put a skid plate over this as well as the radiator intake?basically an entire chest skid plate?are these already made or would i have to get one made personaly?
ps-donuts in the deli are REALLY fun, specialy with a steering ball.highley suggest every one get one

take ditches diagonally not straight on pat. Unless its steep enough and long enough to worry about rolling thats the only way to do it.

yeah,i was takign the ditch side ways but i sliped in and one wheel hit really hard and bounced up which made the smash on the other side.it was easey enough to fix but im sure that if it happend a couple times it would probably break right off.this weekend i plan on driving up a road me my dad, brother and liek three other guys built to our back country ski lodge and i want to make sure im not gonna kill the intakes(the road is shit)
