shifting prob.when cold

Post by rdub »

it seems that the cooler its gotten out,the shifter is finding it hard to shift up to second and down to first,it seems to be happening a little more frequently ,somtimes im really fighting to get it in gear so ill roll to a stop and then itll go in fine when im gearing down. then off the line i go and its o.k. its the down shifting that seems to be the problem more so than the up shifting.
I am stable in most situations that I have no reservations in stormy conditions.

Is the clutch pedal travel ok? If there is nothing wrong with the clutch I would be tempted to change the tranny oil, maybe go to something synthetic that is a little thinner like 75-90 (I assume the manual tranny takes gear oil?)
