turtle WVO install pictorial
hi
turtle is done! the pictures mostly say it all. a few deets though: the return valve is plumbed to another valve i can turn by hand to select return to tank, or loop back to IP, through an out port in the filter. i took off the hand primer and capped the filter again b/c i think the primer was leaking air (i suspect the filter assy still is still leaking air)
the tank is 120l aluminum w/ a baffle, bolted into the rear sway bar bolt holes.

Congrats!
It was only a matter of time with you, we all knew it was coming!
Nice custom install, I especially like how you mounted and attached your tank, great idea!
Enjoy the grease!

maybe they aint rated for high temps.. but theyll hold... i think...

ive used them on other installs with no problems, but before my drive through the Nevada desert this summer ill put real heating hoses on there..
how much pressure is a cooling system anyhow?

Re: turtle WVO install pictorial
Just read a few times on other forums that people running into problems with the clear hoses as they are rate for around +65°C max. If the temperatures rises the rubber gets pretty soft and they might slip off the barbs even with hose clamps.

First highway trip yesterday from comox ferry to Vic and back: ALL GOOD
im pretty sure the filter assy is still leaking air. on the way down at times there was a bit of hesitation (maybe) but on the way back did the speed limit or more, climbed the Malahat no problem!!

What's your speed over the Malahat in the L300? If I am on my own I have to drop to about 60kph and with a car load of people, man, I must drop to 40 or 50kph on the steeper parts.

its the brains of the system. its a 3 way toggle, 1 diesel, 0 veg - glow plug, 2 veg + glow plugJordan wrote:Great install, every aspect of that vehicle is so beautiful.

theres relays and a micro chip in there that delays the switching of the return valve to allow for a good purge.

Does the glow plug cycle to keep the oil at a certain temp or does it stay on? What temp does your oil get to?
