There was recently a thread on this. They are about $4000 if you don't get it through ICBC. The consensus seems to be that you won't notice a difference if you get a non-heated one

Mardy brought up some good points about using ICBC for a $4000 windshield - Possible write-off if they have to keep paying out that kind of chingo. I currently have the heated but when it is time to pay for the damage from stupid truck drivers I will probably shell out for a non-heated. Doesn't really make that much of a difference, at least not several thousand dollars difference. My 3 cents.

Re: L400 Heated Windshield
Kinda nice idea tho', to defrost your wiper blades in case they get stuck to the glass. I guess the front defrost iss the next best thing...
For that price, I'd almost bring in an L400 for parts; selling off the windshield alone would pay for the whole rest of the van!

Hi,
Helicopter Doctor:
try to just get the regular one its the same;not much difference.
wiper blade is cheaper than the windshield or cost of repair.
icbc here is not happy about this expensive cost of windshield too much money.
hope this help understand this point as they are serious here in bc to write off this type of
vehicle.
cheers;
mardy
