My wife is going Dragon boating in Victoria on that weekend and I find it very boring to watch, especially when I have to keep an eye on my 2 little monkeys... So anyone interested to join me for a weekend camping in the area?
Myself and the two little ones will be hitting the local trails and remote camp sites. Looking to use our machines for what they were built, explore the area and for some good relax time at the camp comes night time. And especially looking to meet up with the Island crew... Kids welcome!
Thinking of making it a 3 days wknd by leaving Friday morning and coming back Sunday night, flexible though.
Cheers,
Mr. D

Well my friend...if you get tired of bunking in the bus, let me know. We have 2 small cabins left over from the hostel, and can usually put folks up for the night with a little notice!

how about Jordan River or Port Renfrew on the extreme wet coast, or as an alternative, Lake Cowichan.

Hey guys, thanks for the offer and site idea...
I`ve never ventured to Port Renfrew`s area, could be very interesting. BC at it`s best, ocean and mountains! Any of you to join us?
I just arrived into Québec city tonight for 3 weeks of family holiday. We got ourself a gorgeous 1845 house on the side of the St-Lawrence, compliment of ¨Home Exchange¨... So, Bonjour a tous du Québec!
Cheers,
Mr. D

Re: Island Weekend camping & Offroading, August 12-14
I'm just looking at some different options for Renfrew and Jordan River.
At Jordan River, there are 2 provincial parks (China Beach and French Beach), both quite large, $21 per night. There is a group site available for $1 per person or minimum $50 per night.
Port Renfrew offers 3 forestry sites, (Fairy Lake - 36 campsites, Lizard Lake - 28 campsites, San Juan Creek - 5 campsites). Fairy and Lizard are both $15 per night, San Juan is $10 per night. All three have pit toilets only.
We'd be up for Friday and Saturday night camping, but would have to come after work on Friday. I get home about 5. From our place near Goldstream park it's about a 2 hour drive to Renfrew, a little over an hour to Jordan River.
waiting for input from our Victoria fellow delica-ites. Anyone up for a camping weekend?
