Hyundai Porter at work in Korea taking dogs to be slaughtered for food. Before slaughter it is common for the dogs to have their legs broken and tied back or be strung up for few hours with hooks and ropes as terror helps tenderize and give more flavour to the meat. The Hyundai Porter's 2.5L engine gives good fuel ecconomy for the Korean Dog Meat industry.
Not sure we have some racist here at delica forum and very curious how a man has been trained by his Amazing "lord".
I saw this belowed posting yesterday, I take it very serious as I have heard like this someone saying " xxxian NO GOOD" too many times from customers.

~this quote has been removed just as the original has because it is not helpful criticism and is merely slander, thanks for your understanding~

EDITED:

My comments were taken as rascist even though they were definately not meant to be. They were meant as social commentary on the dog meat industry and also a cheeky fun intended jab toward RSI for top posting with a picture of a Hyundai Porter previously. As mentioned before my humour does not always come across as intended (in this case as a continued commercial for the Hyundai Porter).

I was unaware that RSI was feeling rascist pressures from some other source so I do not wish to add to that bad feeling. It was not my intention. As such I have edited my posts of my own will.

psilosin wrote:My post is not racist. I was adding another picture of teh Hyundai Porter and some dogs just like your last 2 pictures. The Hyundai Porter is Korean. There is a dog meat industry in Korea. Its like a picture of slaughtered Seals hauled in a F150 here in Canada. I disapprove of both industries. How is that racist?
I want to see all carriers that move dog meat and slaughtered seals around the world! :?
Very disappointed with hearing someone saying "xxxean NO GOOD" yesterday night and followed by fishy niusance.
I just felt, but you observed it.

While I hesitate to get involved in this very hot topic - here is how we treat pigs, as a matter of routine business - and by the way, pigs are smarter than dogs. We are not any kinder to our factory meat - we are at least as cruel. And don't kid yourself if you think you don't support this kind of practice. It's easy to post a pic of seals being slaughtered because it has nothing to do with you (or, are you involved in the seal hunt in any way?). But every single time you eat factory produced meat, you are complicit in this misery. If you don't know where your meat is coming from, you can assume it has suffered it's entire life so you can consume it. And by the way - I love eating meat, but I eat less and I gladly pay more for humanely raised animals.

Warning GRAPHIC:

And by the way, psilosin, your post, with the accompanying comments does smack of racism - it's not about what you posted, but the context in which you posted it.

Glenn I agree with your comments. I am well versed in agricultural systems since thats what I do and I have problems with most every large scale food industry. Almost every industrial food system does not treat the animals within it with respect. Egg farms which most semi-vegetarians consider quite benign are some of the most extreme and un-natural for example. I go out of my way to buy humane animal products and sustainable plant products.

That picture was posted as I looked up Hyundai Porter and that was one of the images that came up and it made me mad/sad. Because the original porter picture posted by RSI was a totally random post I thought it made a good equally random post with a good jab towards Hyundai and yet another animal industry I disaprove of. It is not rascist towards Koreans as whole anymore than condemming whaling is racist to Norwegians or condemming sealing is racist to Newfoundlanders. If it was interpretted as racist that was not the intention and I appologize.

To Psilosin,

I am more than well aware of the horrors of the slaughter industry, and I have witnessed slaughter of cattle and pigs.
You stated "I go out of my way to buy humane animal products and sustainable plant products."
With reference to your statement, can your recommend any local products or suppliers?

Cheers,

Joe

I can't recommend anything but my parents have free range pigs cows and chickens, so i naturally buy from them. They live a happy long life and you will be surprised at the taste difference with organic meat, or anything for that matter. Nothing wrong with eating meat but there is something wrong with buying non-organic meat.

Hi Joe,

I tend to buy meat from small scale local meat producers who let their animal live on the pasture until it is their time (ie no feedlot stage), or wild game through friends or contacts I have met at the local farmers markets. Thats not much help to you directly since we are quite a distance apart. In the Okanagan it is quite hard to find local chicken and eggs, not sure why but I think with the heightened centralized inspection regulations a few years back it just was no longer profitable. I would think in the lower mainland you will have a much easier time finding either direct sources of meat or vendors that specialize in sourcing their meat from small farms. Finding sources of sustainable veggies and fruit should be quite easy as both the okanagan and the lower mainland have such an abundance. I could never go back to just buying all my food at the grocery store (still get quite a bit there). I find meals I make a lot more satisfying when I have met face to face the people who's products I am using. I like seeing them year after year, seeing their families helping out at the market, seeing that some of them even have Delicas (and a local baker has a Hiace van which is cool too) and knowing exactly where my money went.

I would like to say I am not against large farms for the sake of them being large (ie like hating walmart or apple just because) but for how they are often run with the same bottom line mentality as a mechandise store. And I am not condeming the dog meat industry because it is dog but because of how they are treated. I just find the lack of respect for an animal large or small to have the right to some resemblance of a life before they become a commodity and the lack of a respectful and humane death are both unaceptable and unnecessary. If a farm can develop a way to be large and humane and generate big profits then thumbs up.

Nomad Cows. Totally free range and as organic as can be under the current world status. Best to hunt your own food, then you understand your quarry a little more and you directly take responsibility for your own actions. I also think one tends to understand life better.

Racism? Bah... We all bleed the same colour and if you look back in every race's history ~ we all guilty as sin. Tea anyone?
