Correct timing belt number
We have found an exact match for the Delica timing belt . The factory number on a new belt ordered from Mitsubishi was MD111427 and the Dayco cross number is 95139 . Tensioner number is MD104578 but we are awaiting the arrival of the cross referenced part .

Wrong numbers .
Went to fit the belts , and Mitsubishi sent wrong belts so the cross reference was also wrong .

Hi Mardy,
Don’t take it personal.
Neither you and me is a mechanic, so we can be very careful when we post here as we are not 100% accustomed to technical terminology.
What do you think about these as a shop owner/licensed dealer ?

I would like to see a stock L400 have no problem starting at -40 celcius.
Also if your written English is wrong in grammar, you can be scolded like this.fexlboi wrote:You are funny. Seems like you have some amazing Delicas in stock. First you can save 1l per 100km with manual hubs now you get a stock Delica which starts at -40 without any problems. I guess your next Delica can swim across the ocean?

This is a very old thread, indeed.
Got to love a Filipino, a Ukrainian and a Korean discussing English Grammar. If it's any consolation ~ I have started the Miss Lil' Bitchi at minus twenty-five (C) first time as if it was a sunny Summer afternoon. And I gotta tell you, it was "seven star" freezing...

Who's the Ukrainian ?
note on the below zero starting.
You two are comparing apples to oranges. No contest.
No diesel engine without an aux heater will crank over the same way as the same engine with an aux heater install. That is grade school science.
Do any of you sleep ?
My excuse is I got called into work and have to stay awake for the next 3 hours.

Re: Correct timing belt number
Batteries measured in Cold Cranking Amps are rated to minus thirty. I presume that is in Centigrade. The batteries I was using then were 1100 CCA (Parallel), since then I have upgraded to 1600 CCA.
By the way, I learned a trick from my son ('though I've never tried it myself but the information comes from BCIT) ~ if it is so cold out that the battery is not cranking the engine over... switch the headlamps on for five minutes. It will cause a chemical reaction that will warm the battery up. Switch the lights off and try the engine again. Not 100% guaranteed but it has been proven to work.
Did you know: You can not only make a lemon into a battery and if you hook enough of them up you can create a twelve volt battery, but you won't be able to start a vehicle with them... do you know why? ...
Not enough juice.
Really.

Re: Correct timing belt number
You are correct, Lopar ~ the thread should be about correct timing belt numbers but somehow it became about the importance of members. Then important members spoke up, then it became about weather and batteries. The good thing is it is still archived as "Correct timing belt number". In the up coming months there will be some serious cataloguing going on in DC and with that will be some pruning.
