Dash color change!
Hey y'all,
It was time for a change! I'm done with the green. Early 90's green is not my cup of tea especially that I got my drivers in 2003 so it's not like I had an emotionnal attachment to kitch or old fashion!
To complete the project I had to find LED that would be plug and play as much as possible because I wanted the project to require minimal mods. SO I thought! There's about 3 billion type of LED and all of them could ish work.
A thing to remember about LED is that they're not made to work on 12 volt unless specified otherwise
The other thing to remember is that LED are polarized so if they don't light up, have them do a 180 in the wedge and they'll work!
Something I've noticed: Blue is way more intense then red.
The hardest part was the gear selector because I had to weld resistance on the circuit board and also because the light that illumanate all the letters is also a ''master resistance'' to the hole dash. Go figure. Basically if that light is not there, none of the lights will illuminate and it pisses me off because this circuit only work with incadescent light! F*** So until I find a solution I'm stuck with a yellow white and it looks terrible instead of having a clean white white!
SO I went for the all red dash with a couple of blue accent!! Blue could've also been done but my radio unit I bought was either green (beurk) or red.
basically everything is red except the flasher and Park Neutral Reverse
The only green left is the clock!
So here's the list
Cluster:
3 x T10 9 SMD 12v
16 x T1.5 5mm (give or take depending on what you want to change color) 12v Heating unit
3 x Neo wedge 4mm 12v
2 x plain LED with two wires
Instrument panel
1 x plain LED with two wires
1 x 1K ohm resistance
2 x T10 5 SMD 12v
Glove box, cigarette lighter and ash tray
3 x T1.5 LED - Here you only need the LED and not the wedge
Gear selector (here's the fun)
7 x plain LED with two wires
7 x 1K ohm resistance Dome reading light
2 x T10 9SMD 12v

Dude, you gotta move back to BC, and do more camping treks with us again like that great Braelorne trip we did, your delica won't remember how to rough road camp now that you've made it so glamorous. Hugs, Christine.
