Another thing to note is that this forum is not a democracy and Falco along with the other moderators were appointed. That being said, a lot of thought goes into choosing a new moderator.

Yes it is NOT A DEMOCRACY and this is why Delica.ca will fail (not the reality I want to see, but the reality of every other forum I have belong to that is structured this way...Power corrupts).

Yes, lots of thought does go into choosing a new moderator here is how I see it:

Who will do what we want and follow only our narrow vision, who will not listen to what the majority of the group wants, who will not have ideas different then us....where will we find a sheep....(I am not sure if this is OUR Vision or MY Vision (since I do not know if it is Mark and/or Falco who is KING).

Finally, yes Jesse is guilty of some attacks....but Steven has been just as bad lately if not worse.


Perfect example of the problems with site would be the recent changes to the Beef section where the post was locked and new rules brought forward by the Monarchy....Few weeks later and non of the rules are being followed and we have a bunch of people attacking a dealer again?


There are some very knowledgeable members that could have made this site awesome (people who develop websites and networks for a living. Unfortunately these people have gone away because they wanted to have a voice in what Delica.ca is..

I am not sure how we can have the Utopia Delia Lama site when all members are not treated with respect and honour.... Falco if you really believe that things are like the teachings of the Delia Lama I am actually panicked that you current have all the control.

Yes, you did Nick. Jesse was faster with responding but I was about to post almost the same comments.
How about RSI pulling the year-old thread in an attempt of a revenge for my negative comments regarding his behavior on the forum? WTF? I take it as an attack. Please be advised that I did not make any deals with Jesse but I believe we share the same concerns and ideas. I find all of his comments fair and balanced unlike some other "contributors". Unfortunately I do not enjoy this forum as much as before for the same reason Jesse has mentioned. No rules, no moderation (which is more than moving posts, closing threads and removing spam), 'tolerance' which lead to more and more conflicting situations and it looks like we are getting closer to some kind of a crisis. I expressed my concerns regarding the lack of forum regulations and their enforcement in private conversations with the current Administrator years ago and I can see now that I was right. Sorry guys but this forum degraded so much since I joined it that I am loosing interest in it (but I still have a habit of having it open in a browser). There were several technical advisors and the knowledge base was constantly growing. Not anymore. Who can you ask for technical advice and get help now? I mean real advice, not 'I am not a mechanic but I guess...' BS. Jesse. Where is the rest of them? Why they are not on the forum anymore? You can disagree with me but this is how I see the current situation. Utopia Delia Lama site? Yes, it is utopia. Something that does not exist on Earth and will never happen.
PS. I hope this last statement will not trigger another philosophical debate which I am not interested in.

Delica.ca is constantly trying to improve and when others constantly try to re-start arguments about change before any has been made just seems unproductive. (this is not directed at any specific person).

I am now going to step away from this conversation and let the other moderators look at this with fresh eyes.

If anyone would like to comment on something I've said that they agree or don't agree with feel free to pm or email me about it. I stand by my comments but am very receptive to others views.

I do not care if Delica.ca changes....I only warn it will fail or loose all the useful people (both are failing in my mind). I do not really need the forum as I have email, telephone for support I need ( ).

The current administration will be its failure.

Exactly. We also need regulations in order to protect these people from wasting their time and energy in pointless conflicts with other members who enjoy just debating no matter what. We need tough and mean moderators who can say: "That's enough. Shut up!" If that does not work suspend an account for a period of time. You want more freedom to express yourself? Russian Delica forum has a chat room where members can participate in all kinds of foulness in real time. We do not necessary need to clone someones experience but we need to finally implement law and order on the forum.

Hey,
I think the crap-cano of shenanigans have spawned
from a lack of separation between the dealers and driver posts.
(eg. the view active topics including dealer parts and vehicle sales bumps)

Beyond that it is some etiquette and basic manners that are
not being observed. For the most part this makes the transgressor
look kind of douche baggish.

A dealer attacking a member/importer in a sales thread when the member
has been a contributor to the forum as well as the RHD community
as a whole. I wonder if this dealer even knows that the Member
has spent much time and energy developing a relationship with the docks/customs
side of things in Vancouver,that has made the whole process easier for everybody.........
Oh the internet eh?

Your original post is not attacking anyone but your latest have been.

For a moderator, those are pretty condescending statements.

99% of what I post in one form or another is the act of contributing and giving to this forum and it's members. As I said before, the 1% is opinions and thoughts. If they are shunned, so sue me.

How and why this has turned into a pissing match is beyond me. I believe that the original post served more as a caveat to future posters to basically watch what they say, have a little respect and to observe rule number 1. And I agree.

But there seems to be more fat on the bone than this. It sounds like people want change. I think that the comments from a few may speak to the feelings of many. The only way to really really know what people want is to have a vote/poll. Maybe a poll is the start of an answer. I'm not sure what it would say, but it would have something to say about direction the community wants the forum to go in. Do we want to be self-policed, or do we want rules followed? etc...

Let's leave the mud-flinging to the politicians; It sounds like we are gearing up for another election.
