Differential Fluid Change

Post by White Mule »

Well this fluid change is next on the list, and last I believe.

The manual says l300 use API classification GL-5 or higher SAE viscosity no.90, 80w.

Im pretty sure I have limited slip, as the orange sticker is present at the driver door.

I would like to use synthetic.

What fluid is recommended by the forum?
Thanks,

White Mule

Your LSD diff will love you for this.

Use Redline 75w90 GL5 synthetic. It's about $10-12/bottle.

This stuff is amazing. There is a noticeable difference in wear/gear howl between this (quietest) and shell/pennzoil/lucas oil, etc.

Good stuff!

Yes I have located all products mentioned. I will locate capacities next (wiki) and purchase the correct amount.

While I'm down there, I thought of extending the breather valves as well. You never know, a snorkel may present itself one day. (come on karma!)
Thanks,
