Considering trading my Deli for a Domingo

Fuel prices.

I've been comparing fuel economy between the Domingo and the Delica...right now I get about 10-11 L/100km, which is pretty good for a 91. That said, I can cut that down to 7L/100km with a Domingo.

I understand that the ECV transmission can be a little dicey on the Sambars, but that it's better built on the Domingos.

Anyone know of a Domingo for sale?

Edit: I work as a courier, so the 1200cc engine is appealing. Most of my work is in town, but I do go as far as Powell River or Campbell River on occasion...

I drove a Sambar and while it can hit 90-100km/h easily enough, I wouldn't want to hold it there for long. I'm wondering if the same can be said for the Bravo...

I have see a few listed on Vancouver's Craigslist in the last few weeks. I really like them to. If I was living in Vancouver I would buy one. Definitely try and get one with a manual transmission and a 1200cc engine.

I'd look into what people are getting fuel economy wise for those vehicles under our driving conditions. Smaller motors do not always translate to better fuel ecconomy. If you have to work the motor hard to drive it how you want it odds are your fuel ecconomy will not be any better than the Delica.

My Liteace truck has a 1.5L gas engine and my fuel ecconomy fluctuates wildly depending upon load and driving conditions...ie from 7-8L/100km unloaded open backroad driving at 80kmh to 11-12L/100km unloaded highway driving 100kmh+ to 14-15L/100km fully loaded driving back and forth up the hills to the dump (lucky to hit 40kmh). Similarly the HDJ81 Landcuiser with teh 4.2L TDiesel apparently almost always returns better fuel ecconomy than that of my L400 (2.8L) or Hilux Surf (2.4L).

Agreed with the smaller motor myth being more economical. I'm driving an 5,800 lbs truck with a tractor engine and return 10-11L/100km driving along or towing 3k. If the Delica suits you and you just want to cut down on fuel then propane injection combined with wvo would cut down your fuel anywhere from 20-90% savings. No cant say I have seen it around.

I was in Parksville last weekend and they have one on the lot there. Its a Sambar with 80000km for $5000. No big sunroofs and I am pretty sure Sambars have the 660cc engine.

I agree with the above posts but I am sure you would save a ton on gas.
