Winter tires

Im looking at getting a set used for the winter.
Found these: 235/75R15 Toyo G-O2plus Open Country Studless
however they are not LT
Have a spare set of aluminum rims from a Nissan Pathfinder

Thoughts?

"P"s are fine, at least with Yokos. I drove for two and a half years on Ps in all sorts of terrain in all seasons. Did get a blow-out once when I impaled my rear right tyre and a protruding bit of washed out culvert, not sure an extra side wall would have made any difference. One thing with Yoko Ps is to make sure the alignment is on. I had my alignment done by "West Coast Alignment" who really screwed up and I figure that shortened the tyre's lifespan by about a year. For winter tyres I would think you're fine.

Anyone know if the lug nuts on a nissan are the flat type or
more of a cone similar to the mitsu? Toyota's are flat... not
sure about nissan

I couldn't find 235/75/15 tires in that model. Sure they are not 225/75/15's ?

L300 is one heavy vehicle. I would not recommend using passenger car tires unless the weight load capacity is comparable to a LT tire.

Delica L300's are heavier that many small-medium sized trucks out there. Being nose heavy, P rated tires are not recommended.

The amount of force put on the sidewalls on the front tires when making a corner at speed is very high.

As for tires.

Most nissan's are cone.

Reason why Toyo's are flat is that the wheel is hub-centric (wheel is centered via hub) while Mitsu/Nissan's are not hub-centric (wheel is centered via cone-shaped lug nuts).

You can use the Nissan's however with the L400, the hub center bore is 108mm. You may need to hone out the center bore.

Max load in pounds 2039.. what number should i be looking at?

X2 -I tiped the scales at 5,000lbs and with tall side wall tires and a very short wheel base and very narrow... The L300 sure comes down when a side wall blows out... I know I blew a back tire at 90km/h it was fun..

I now have 16" rims to get LT tires with decent sidewalls.

Never used LT tires, just odinary ones - I prefer Yokohama G-071, G-072 standard size 215X80X15, you don`t need wide tires on ice.
