Info on Where and How to Buy a Delica

Post by koggy »

Salutations Delica People !!
I'm in Vancouver BC and looking to buy a Delica.
I would appreciate any info on where and how to buy one - inexpensive, best quality and thoroughly inspected, of course :-)
Thanks for being out there driving strong, sustainable vehicles.
Cheers,
Katherine

Earlier in the spring I put a fully refundable deposit down with Shogo at Japanoid in New Westminster. They brought me in a really clean unit at a fair price, I've put about 10,000 km's on it and it's been great. They were nice to deal with and I would recommend them.

Hi Kath, happy to give you my opinions. We finally bought ours 2 weeks ago, and are enjoying pottering with it, as we speak Spousal unit is lying under it playing with torsion bars. Live in Burnaby, and you're welcome to come look at it. email here, or my email crisccga@yahoo.ca Cheers, Christine.

Hi Katherine,

I bought mine at Japanoid in New Westminster and they have been great to deal with. Much less hassle than having to do any of the importing yourself and they got me exactly what I wanted, when I wanted!!!

Their showroom/ lot usually has a few models around so you can go there and check them out.

I really do (heart) my deli!!!

I got mine at Japanoid as well, and am happy with how things went. There are several importers whose names come up a lot around here. Have a look around.

Buying a Delica is not necessarily like buying a "regular" used car. Some dealers have one or two in stock, but most will take a deposit, source a Delica in Japan for you, then bring it over. I handed over a deposit in late July and drove off the lot in Gumdrop in early September. The original Gumdrop was the Apollo 9 command module, BTW...

Despite the present strength of the Canadian dollar, prices seem to be creeping upward. Supply and demand, methinks.
