L400 Heater Core recondition?

Post by joedelica »

Any idea of approx. cost to recondition my heater core?
And should I replace the thermostat at the same time?

Cheers,

Joe

Joe if you find a good shop for the recon, please let me know as I'll be doing the same for my Patrol.

This is the guy who rebuilt my Jeep FC170 Radiator and the original L300 Radiator.

He also custom built me a heater core for my FC170 (the stock one had frozen about 25 years earlier so it was start from nothing deal (think the core was around $300.00)).

He knows his stuff, and does not care what side the steering wheel is on.

Apparently these cannot be reconditioned; whether they can isn't a concern for me, as CVI can get new cores from their supplier for $60. Pretty sure a rad shop would charge much more if they can recondition it!

Cheers,

Joe
