4m40 takes 4-5 hours as well

Are you in the right forum !?!? To pull the IP on an L300, the radiator does NOT need to be touched and to replace the main shaft seal on the 4M40 takes approx 4 hrs that includes, removal of the IP, re&re main shaft seal, reinstallation of the IP and test.

This is the reason why dealers should stay out of topics like these.

Now you get conflicting numbers on parts, labour and processes.

This thread would have been fine without the sale pitch of one dealer and the input of the other.

The stock o-rings/seals in the Bosch Injection pump (that is inside the L400/Pajero 4M40) are synthetic rubber Viton.

Original poster, if you are paying for 6-8 hours or labour, look elsewhere. The only technical aspect is to ensure proper timing marks are lined up prior/post the IP re&re. The rest is average diesel mechanics.

Take it to CVI. They will charge you honestly on labour.

I have endorced your posts when I believe they are really true.
But sometimes you lost your mind due to hatred for us.

You said main seal for L400 is synthetic rubber Viton.

But in this thread you posted earlier, you said main seal is not Viton and may have an issue.
Which is true?
Viton is never worn out?
What’s the difference between oil seal and o-rings?
How many oil seals/o rings are there in L400 IP?

hope this is clear to you. you sometime mis- judge me.
as per your parts i got your message thursday.
already prepare it.
maybe i am just slow and short of worker to provide lower cost for customer.
pls if you need it urgent let me know.as i deal with customer from east coast to west coast.
you dont have to post this parts order on this topic.

Pls see attached L300 engine room.
It will be way easier if you take out radiator for IP main seal replacement.
** lots of space, easy use of tools, accurate work ,etc.

If you are doing a re&re of an L300 IP, the radiator does not HAVE to be removed like you say it does.

With that same logic, I can tell you from experience that the engine has to be removed to install an L400 block heater because it's easier.

Viton - I never said the main shaft seal is made of synth viton.

Your posts are riddled with question marks. Quite funny coming from a dealer who is recommending to another member to do a major rebuild and then asking questions about parts you posted earlier. Seems your posts are at odds with each other.

Good thing you read only what gets you riled up and nothing more. Makes your posts one-sided.

If you wouldn't have posted your parts for sale and advising the original poster to rebuild his injection pump, this thread would have not been moved here.

He asked a simple question. Are there any mechanics that would replace only the main seal for a few bucks. You derailed the thread. :roll:

Keep going. You're the dealer that has to get the last two bits in.

It's funny how dealer sales was supposed to dissapear from the discussion area on this forum but you haven't changed much. Neither has Mardy. He shouldn't have responded to you. tsk tsk guys.

'i dont ignore you but just busy" - really, over 4 weeks you did not have the time to send me a 30 second email. Sorry do not believe this to be true. Only way to get a response from you is for me to be mean on the forum. Then you respond with falsehoods.

'i appreciate your business. But cannot do rush rush' - so you consider waiting 4 weeks for any type of response to be rush rush?? Lol. Recently over the same time frame I inquired, ordered, and have received some items I ordered from the Netherlands Antilles (middle of nowhere) and you think sending an email in a 4week time window is rush rush?

And then you say you're curious about the same thing. Your technical advice is as confusing and contradictory as a jenga or rubix puzzle.

Please stop quoting yourself, repeating yourself and posting to get the last word in. This is one long term topic I do not want moved to the last word cafe because of you constant nagging. Please create another topic with your points.
