I would apologize if I made false accusation against competitor’s parts and others.
If you say something, you need to try to do that based on minimal scientific background.
Because we are not idiots and you are from a respected dealer.

I am very tired to explain this to our 11V Hyundai glow plug buyers.

what butch give to you & other people buying this hyundai glow plug that will fit 4m40 as you & other think its o.k.
this is just temporary solution: as you see the hyundai glow plug is longer than the original mitsubishi glow plug.
actually the hyundai glow plug is longer than original one, one mistake when this glow plug tip goes then it hit the piston then you will have big problem towards your engine.
people ask me about this but for me to used it i wont used it as its way too long & not the right fit for this engine. othe people think its o.k. but for me its not as the engine is more expensive than glow plug.

If you have a faulty relay, broken ECU or no power to busbar , it wouldn’t start in 3 seconds( absolutely no way ).

This is what it takes to fire up a 4M40 engine without working glow plugs depending on the air temperature.

There’s no chance to puff white smoke if fuel delivery system works fine.

Correct

There is a good fat 100% chance to blow white smoke of atomized unburnt diesel fuel if the plugs don't glow and the engine is cold.

You should refrain from posting in the technical section. Your 'troubleshooting' recommendations are more confusing than helpful.

39 deg C then down to 15deg C. We don't know if we are coming or going.
On the whole the weather has been lovely.
Anyway the earl grey is on and i have borrowed my granddaughters tea set so banana cake anyone?

Yeah, the gov. here is confused too - the weather is pretty much on track for winter though...
I'll be in Adelaide in Feb. so I'm hoping for some of that 39 C stuff... Can't wait.

Actually, I thought that was posted directly into the Last Word Cafe. Having been inspired by your accusation I went back to look that up in the Moderator's Log and sure enough on page 52 I found the entry ~ only 29 minutes after you posted it ~ it was merged into the Last Word Cafe.... by Fexlboi at 21:31. The next evening he deleted five posts in “Re: FS: l400 & l300 snorkels” (RichD; Super Exceeded; Fexlboi; Fexlboi; Mr. Flibble).

I'm glad you brought this up, Jesse. There were a number of things that got deleted ~ now I know what happened.

Well, I am sick and tired of Mr. Advertiser aka Rising Sun Imports posting junk (mostly with pictures). What kind of answer was that? Yes, it could be. How valuable this answer is? How this part in question looks like is irrelevant. Jfarsang always provides technical solutions or troubleshooting steps unlike RSI who jumps into each post with images of parts he sells de-railing literally every single post. So what? The Administration pretends that nothing is wrong and the mess continues to build up. This is not jfarsang who starts the fight but rather RSI's technical ignorance plus agressive and sneaky marketing tactics muliplied by the administrative blessing that sparks and fuels this conflict.

Interesting. The new relay I just installed on Tuesday is toast.

Trigger wire from ECU (SRG) is operating fine supplying voltage for ~6 seconds. Power supply to the relay is fine. 0 power at the switched terminal when activated. Not yet bench tested but it looks dead by all account.

Jcolvin, I am interested if you had a chance to re-test your new relay to see if it cooked as well. I'm going to pick up another today and reinstall to see if this is just bad luck or if shinanagans are afoot.

For fun here is another startup video. This time trying to start the L400 at -4oC. I got tired of eating smoke sandwich so I gave up before she fired (sensitive viewer alert: f-bomb dropped).

I returned from USA last night, so I didn’t see this video until this morning.
Yes, glow plug relay was completely gone.
It will be very simple to fix, just replace it with new/used oem.
I said several times not going cheap aftermarket relay as they turn out hassle and more money in the long run. Not worth to argue about this.
We have lots of OEM glow plug relay in stock FYI Steven

I just gave OP the simpliest answer for this problem_ just replace BROKEN ONE with new/used oem glow plug relay.
Why would we need a trouble shooting? I don’t understand why you guys try to make L400 negative and bad.
When it comes to cold start issue, there’s nothing wrong with L400 system.
In many cases, we have some issues for dealing with old cars.
But we can solve the problem anyway, because this engine was born to start/run in any kind of weather/territory.
Why do one dealer and proxies histerically react my suggestions?
There’s nothing simpler than starting the diesel engine.
Unlike you guys, there’s no claim from my customers, eh?

Trouble shooting is cheap? Don’t you think trouble shooting may kill your system eventually?
How come we have bought these 15 year old delicas at over 10g?
These cars deserve to be serviced well, not tested by trouble shooter guiders ( google guys ).

I don’t understand why you are talking about “sea level”, “elevation”, “glow plug hitting piston in 4M40 engine”, “ re-programming ECU”, “Japan spec”, “North Amer spec ( We have this machine in NA before? )”,“Mr advertiser”, “ how long have you lived in Canada?”, etc…

Most people here want to get simple solution with clear part source/pics, unlike you guys.
I recall profister has posted some pic data for clear explanation.

Why bother replying to someone that only responds to what they want to read/hear/see? Answer. Don't respond. RSI, you should have taken Falco's suggestion.

You don't even bother to go back and clean up your false advice. It sits there for others to see and use. Be a man and at the very least, accept that you are not a delica-god who is always right and if someone says something you don't like, then you get all antsy in your pantsy. Grow a pair and learn to mingle.

Take a few hours and go back before last year when you started going nuts posting on the forum. There was no such 'drama' going on except for two other members who are long gone.

Ask yourself the question, why all this drama now ? Years of fun, informative and resourceful thread/posts. Now it's a convoluted mess. You get one good topic and it gets twisted so much that it's original intent is lost.

This forum is very liberal in it's moderation. Because of that, you (dealers) are allowed to do as you please and it shows. Some good, some bad, some downright childish behavior.

It's different if you're a single member/person but you are a business. You should be acting as such, instead of articulating yourself as an individual non-professional member.
