Today my sliding door on my L400 refused to open. My Mom had to enter and exit out the rear hatch. I tried locking and unlocking the door with my remote, the door remote switch, the lock on the inner side and with the actual key.
The door refused to open with either handles. Inner or outer.
It appeared the door was locked, yet I could hear the lock mechanism moving every time I tried it I could feel it move when using the key, and I could see the little lock lever on the inside of the door move as well.
No opening door at all.....
Then, just as i got home after my Mom got out the back, I tried the door again, and it worked just as normal.
WTF?!
What just happened today?

Re: Strange sliding door behaviour
...time for an exsorcism!?
In all seriousness, sounds like an issue with the child safety lock. It may be in the halfway position?
Its on the front edge of the door(near lock/latch mechanism)
Brad.

Re: Strange sliding door behaviour
I flipped the safety lock back and forth a number of times and the problem has not reoccurred.

Happens lots to me. When all else fails I disconnect the battery.
