Hi my name is Kam,
I am from Burnaby and looking to get a delica for me and my family.
I have been reading as much as i can about these vehicles but i thought i'd introduce myself and ask you guys for help.
We are thinking to get an l400 LWB with low mileage on the engine.. mind you i am not mechanicaly inclined.. so what are things i should know or look for or insure that were done on the engine? We would need something reliable that could take us and the kids for long trips without worrying about things.[
Also, are there any suggestions on which local dealership you guys recommend?
How is the fuel consumption and maintenance like on these vehicles?
Is it true that the l300 is known to have issues with cracked head?
And finally, how difficult is it driving right hand side?
Thank you in advance for any help.
hello everybody.. i have some questions please

Nope no issue with heads cracking on L300. L300 need the cooling system looked after as does the L400. They are both aluminum head diesel so if you do not maintain them they do not like abuse. But it is a none issue.
Low mileage means nothing. You want a rust free well maintained vehicle. Low mileage can be a bad thing such as not warmed up enough on short drives and this leads to problems.
If you are not mechanical take it to a mechanic and get an inspection done independent of who you buy from.
CVI in richmond would be close and has a good reputation (I do my own work so I cannot advise)
On this site search rust issues to know the spots to have checked, legal headlights, legal tires, or timming chain (beltif you go L300), coolant bottle, and dealer feedback section.
Welcome, read, read, read
I did not really notice the switch to the right but I have driven lots of stuff in my life. I also have a 5 speed, but grew up shifting for my dad.
search mileage there is a thread. Test drive test drive test drive

Where are you in Burnaby? I am on the Vancouver Burnaby border and I have some time off this week. You can have a look at my van as a starting point. PM me if you are interested.
