Old Gauges, new post... and a rear tire rack

Post by Raule Duke »

I meant to put this mod up some time ago but I guess I forgot to,

I ordered custom gauges from Speedhut.com I think after shipping and everything they cost just under $300

pretty easy install if you have blanking plates instead of an EGR

I will add a boost gauge shortly to match

Also my buddy and I fabbed this little rack up last summer

I don't have a photo but I made a little"extension" that bolts on and off the bumper and the bottom of the rack has polyethylene so the bumper actually takes all the weight while the tire just holds it in place

here it is with the shovel and axe addition

but this is the rack first journey so i soon learned that i need rubber for the jerrys and water jugs to sit on because as you can see they slid around a little hahaha

how is secured from shifting sideways? I can only see the one strap looping around the tire.

Looks nice and light.

Those guages look almost stock.

Great idea for the rear rack. how long does it take to disassemble to open the door?

no disassembly required! you simply open the door as usual. The only thing is that I try not to leave it open for long periods of time as its a lot of weight hanging off the hinges. and obviously I put the diesel in the tank as soon as room is available. I only need to pack that much diesel and water on really long trip when we don't plan on leaving the bush for several days. otherwise the racks serve as a good place to pack out cans and garbage. Or I can store a couple small Rubbermaid's.

ya speedhut.com will outfit your gauges however you like!! they are awesome. they are hand made in the USA also! quality is to notch

I can post a couple pics of the blanking plates with egr probe and boost probe plug (for now 8-) ) installed if anyone likes
