Hello everyone,
I am new here, and to the Mitsubishi van world. I just bought a pretty decent 1990 L300 Wagonvan from California a few weeks ago. It is a running driving unit, but I haven't had it registered for road use as it is the start of winter hereon the East Coast of the U.S. and I don't want to ruin it with all the salt. I did drive it home around 40 miles from the shipping hub when it was delivered, and loved every minute of it. I plan to use it during the warm months with my kids to go for rides, ice cream runs, adventures, and maybe even some camping.
I was wondering if there is a decent source of parts if I need them for these older vintage vans in Canada as they seem pretty rare here in the states. Also do you guys know if I could swap on the shorter overhang bumper on the front of my van from a Japanese or Australian spec van as the US one sticks way out there like Jay Leno's chin. Any other suggestions on things related to these wonderful little vehicle is much appreciated. I am very jealous that some of you guys got the newer vans with manual transmission, 4wd, and diesels. Maybe someday when they are legal to import to the US after they are 25 years old I will get one as well.
Thanks for letting me post, and join, and I hope it is okay that I am not in Canada. I would like to move there someday though. Maybe in 20 years when I retire.

Welcome to the forum. There are members from all over the world but it is rare to hear about a Delica in the USA. Congrats on your acquisition.
I notice you also have a Technica.....wow, thats a rare old Mitsu/Chrysler breed. I still have the digital dash from a Technica Challenger I saved from the wrecker over 15 years ago. I was going to change the analog dash in my 81 Challenger to digital but sold the car a few years later.

Welcome to Delica Canada, Mazdax
Falco.

- We do have a few American members with Vanwagons.
They come on from time to time, keep a weather eye out for them,
you can compare notes. Feel at home... smiles.

Hey R.Costa I know you from the thread on JNC about the vanwagons.
I really wish we could get the Chamonix, super exceed, 4wd, diesel models here in the US. We can technically get the 87 models now, but I don't think they have those cool options on those early ones, and we already have those models here anyway.
Thanks for the warm welcomes.

I agree. I would prefer a 1992 Chamonix P25W but, I think I am going to end up getting a delica just as soon as I can.(probably an '89) It definitely won't be the only one we get because my wife wants one too.
