4D56 HP improvment
can anyone explain to me what the difference in these to methods is? is one better or then the other?
on POUCUK they turn the diaphram screw in (C/W)
http://www.pocuk.com/forums/viewtopic.p ... t&start=15
and in the Galium Method they talk about removing the nylon ring and turning the screw out (CC/W)
http://www.delica.ca/forum/galium-modif ... tml#p60931
I have spaced up my waste gate a little but am waiting for my Boost gauge to arrive before I adjust it too much
thanks

It's the same thing. You can probably have 10 different people explain it in 10 different ways but the same outcome.v8 rick wrote:the rod under the diaphragm ( fuel enrichment rod ) has an offset taper at the bottom and by turning it 90 degree`s at adjusts the angle of the taper thus on boost it allows more fuel to be injected and this along with the increased boost gives the engine an increase in power, i will say though that its a good idea to have a boost gauge fitted before attemping any adjustment as over adjusting can do more harm than good .
rick.
If you want more fuel after you've turned the wheel adjuster, then try remove the nylon ring. Along with upping the fuel, it will need more boost.
A pyrometer and boost gauge is absolutely mandatory for this modification and IMO an intercooler and 2.5" exhaust system (unless both are already there).
I did this with a friend's Pajero a while ago but he had done a leakdown and compression test beforehand as well as cleaning out the fuel system and the intercooler.
I would not do this on a stock L300/Pajero (pre-90) without the above.
The downside. blow up your engine. so naturally DIY at your own risk.

Ok well ive got a 92 Pajero (with intercooler) and pyrometer. My boost gauge will arrive any day so I will try making the adjustment when I have it installed.
For you guys doing the 2.5 inch exhaust where is a good place? I know I've read somewhere on here about a shop called
Muffler tech or something?
I'll post me results when I get it done!

Re: 4D56 HP improvment
So I got my Boost gauge fitted finally you can see it here if you like ----> http://www.delica.ca/forum/free-digital ... 12405.html
So I seem to be maxing at around 10 - 10.5 PSI
I already had 1.12mm Spacers that I installed when I got my truck so I imagine before I installed I would have been a couple (or so) PSI less
I will install one more washer under the waste gate bracket and see if I can get another 2 PSI
This weekend I will adjust the enrichment screw and post results
anyone else have boost results or info they could share?2

Re: 4D56 HP improvment
I went up to 12 psi. I then cleaned out the intercooler and fitting a larger exhaust without adjust the wastegate. Boost went up to 13 max floored up hills. Was a perfect mid point for power/fuel economy.

No kit from what I've seen, but a couple people have had some exhaust bent with silicone spacers made, no time to link sorry.
