Buzzing Won't Stop

Post by mmilotay »

I went to get in my van this afternoon, and there was an obnoxious buzzer going non-stop. Turning lights off and on, opening and closing doors, nothing stopped it. When I would turn the headlamps on, the pitch would change. I pulled the number one fuse at the top left of the block, and the buzzing stopped. When I tried to plug the the fuse back in, there was a small spark. Any thoughts on what I need to do to fix this?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi, the only 2 things making noise in my Delica when I turn off the engine and remove the key is if headlights are on (stalk on right side of steering wheel), or if fog lights are on (rocker switch to right of steering wheel, closest to wheel). Or in reverse gear if beeps inside the van. Everything else shuts down when I turn off engine and remove key. Havent figured out the fuses yet, the printed list on various links doesnt seem same as mine (1991 Delica 35W). Regards, christine of the Tardis Deli.

Yesterday Marigold garage disconnected the buzzer. It was the door warning buzzer. The odd thing was that the buzzer has not worked since I bought the car, and then decided to turn on and make up for its dormancy by refusing to shut off

Just found that buzzer today!

With advice from Glen (Ccauto) discovered that my fog lights switch is toast, buzzing stopped just by fiddling with it. It was switched off! I have since pulled the switch so it can't happen again, until I get a new switch.

Careful without the buzzer and you don't need leave the lights on. Print of the fuse diagram in the Wiki and stick in the fuse cover.
