1986 mitsubishi delica, any in Canada for sale? (not an ad)

Hello Great White North,

i am from Portland Oregon and am in love with the L300 Diesel Delica.
I have been searching all over. I know that cars have to be 25 years or older to be imported into the USA legally.
if i have done my research, a 1986 Delica should be able to be brought into the US now.... 25 years old.

They question: are any of the 4x4 Diesel Delica's in Canada currently available for sale?

I don't think 1986 L300 has been imported into Canada so far.
But I saw one 1987 manual L300 came in Japan auction last week ( it was actually sold at relatively higher price a few weeks ago from different auction house ).
As an importer, I couldn't import 25 year old delica to target USA market.
Also it will be not cheaper than 1997 delica actually, due to service here in Canada and auction winning price over there( There are only good condition with low mileage L300 in Japan at those times, just like vintage car sometimes ).

If we have a positive USA customer, why not?

I haven't seen any older one's lately but you can import a 1987 this year.

There are some that pop up on auction.

If you're looking for one, I would suggest to contact an exporter in Japan. You will find that dealers/importers here in Canada don't really care about any market outside of Canada (see above).

Take everything with a grain of salt. Someone says "too high" .. someone says "they are cheap".

Example.

Here's an 88 with an 87 production month which would be eligible for import into the US.

Not a turbo but it is a 4D56 diesel and the dual sliding doors is a bonus not seen on newer Delica's. Throw on a 2" lift, some 31's, a nice bullbar and it would look great.
