A/T temp sensor location

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

A/T temp sensor location

Post by Magichappens »

Can some one tell me where the auto tranny temp sensor is on the l300. My light seems to go on and off at unusual times. Will the light go on if there is to much oil in the tranny case?
Just had a new head and all the fixings put on and now this sensor light issue.
Any suggestions?
Thanks Kel...

You cannot reset it. It has to be replaced.

Before you do, make sure the fluid is a red/pinkish color and does not smell burnt. Have a shop do a drain and check the filter/pan for metal shavings. If there are any and/or the fluid smells burnt, then the transmission may require extensive work ~ rare case with auto's unless neglected.

If it's just the sensor, it's an easy re&re.

Reasons why the light will come on and stay on:

-Transmission fluid requires changing
-Electrical problem in the wiring for the transmission sys. Sensor wire may have popped off or become corroded.
-The A/T sensor could be faulty
-Fan on the transmission cooler at the drivers side front wheel is not working
