Here are the pics of the two pieces I need:
This is the bushing inside that is worn
This is the whole tailshaft
This is the slip spline. I only need that part form the u joint out, not the driveshaft.
If Mardy or cc autos have any of these parts we just need to measure the bushing ID and the slip shaft OD to ensure that they are not worn like mine. I have 0.010" difference between the two and it is vibrating quite a bit. I do not know what the original clearances should be but I would assume they should be just a couple of thou. After all they cut the helical groves in the bushing to get oil to the slipshaft, so I should be tight.

now i see, i have spare transmission, i think same as delica. i think i know your problem. remember when i see your pajero you used the air bag. i think this will contribute to your problem. i think when you used the rear air bag in the highway for more than 80 kph, then it will be so stip to have it. so then this will happen. you have to balance the level of the rear drive shaft i guess to reduce.
just a though. also check the transmission mount & engine mount. this might help.
hope you can fix it.
cheers;
mardy

Ok I seam to need to try a new idea here. I have tried to get help from the Canadian dealers but so far no luck. Does anyone have a parts lookup for the delica l300? I have searched high and low and found that the delica transfercase output bush is the same OD and ID as the pajero, it is just not as long. See Below quote form an Australian website:

Loco, do you remember the model of L300 that the bush was from, or even the ID & OD? And by how much is it shorter than the original?
How did you manage to find this out?
My front uni joint is notchy in one direction. I wonder could this be a problem.
This problem is killing me. Just want it fixed!
OK, the only info I have here for this weekend is the part description "Bush-EXT HSG L300 Mitsubishi"
I will call the guy and get ID OD and length spex.
As I mentioned already I have run one in mine for near on two years now, no issues, I am about to do some other work on the vehicle so while it's out I will press in another one now, at $23.75inc a bush, even though it's shorter, I can afford to throw another in on a two year cycle.
BTW I do thrash this vehicle and rooster tail it up dunes and mud pans etc and it hasn't gone yet, I would suggest that it doesn' have the life of the original being shorter, so replacing it on a regular basis is still cheaper than a new one.
So if anyone can help here or knows of a canadian dealer, or a mitsu dealer (where they speak english) please let me know. At this point I am going to have to park this vehicle soon as I dont like the vibration. I would just go to a bushing made at a machine shop but it is a close tolerance fit bushing with helical cut oil groves in it, may be tough to manufacture.

Malahat auto wrecking has a 5spd Pajero.
Get them to ship it to you. They have it. I checked.

Doug, are the auto and mannie tailshafts the same? There is a 92 Montero at a yard in NW Calgary, with the 3.0LV6/Auto combo. If auto and manual are the same, you could maybe pull that one? I know its a LWB, but the tailshaft wouldn't be any different - just wonder about auto versus 5sp.
Good luck bud. You've been chasing this one a while. That's the only negative I see to a shorty (unless you need more room), that short little rear driveshaft...

The output tailshafts on auto and manuals I have seen so far on both Montero/Pajero and Delica's are different.
Do you have any lift on your Paj ?
Maybe put a few washers and lower the Tcase 1/4 to 1/2 " and try that.

I have to buy the whole transfer case to get one bushing. Thats like hitting a mosquito with a wrecking ball. If I lived ion the island and didnt have to ship it, I would do that.

I have no lift. But the damage is done anyway. Hey Phil what wrecking yard is that montero at? I am sure I can just take the bushing out of the tailshaft. If I have to I would cut the whole thing appart to get the bushing. I will even take the whole transfer case.
