Re: Looking for a Skid Plate for my L300
The mounting brackets are different between an auto and a 5spd. You would need to cut, bend, drill the skit plate to fit on a manual. Maybe "Pedro" can explain it a little bit more in depth, he did the modification on his 5spd.

Re: Looking for a Skid Plate for my L300
The reason it won't' fit a 5 speed is that the bottom "lip" guiding the air into the rad is different ...It could be done though. Just have to make a little adapter bracket of some sort.
Sorry Brian about not getting back sooner.50 hours a week a 2 year old and a newborn are making "me" time next to impossible !! lol's
I guess we might as well start a running tally on this thread eh? !!
the price i would keep the same 170 per plate. Even if aluminum has gone up.........no big deal.
cheers

Re: Looking for a Skid Plate for my L300
If it could be done i would be very interested. Would a L300 LHD plate be identical to a RHD one + I have no bullbar? ... still have to find a cheap courrier though.fishslapper wrote:The reason it won't' fit a 5 speed is that the bottom "lip" guiding the air into the rad is different ...It could be done though. Re: Looking for a Skid Plate for my L300
Yeah I'm going with smooth too now.
(read After Oil's comment about chamonix and did a search for a photo. Thinking of replacing my bullbar plastic trim with a custom metal one. Don't want to mix and match so close together.)

Re: Looking for a Skid Plate for my L300
I'm in on this too please!! I don't care whether its smooth or checker plate as long as its strong. Although if it is smooth I can see myself spending hours polishing it every couple of weeks just because I'm retarded like that!

My first choice would be smooth... That would be a different look...
