advantage is when locked they are locked and you can shift on the fly to 2H 4H once unlocked....they are unlocked.

Autohubs like to blow up and reverse staying locked is an issue...

These hubs are not very good. I bought a set (from elsewhere) and have spent a lot of time taking them off and putting them back on my L400, forming an opinion.

Biggest problem is the quality of the material is very low. I'm not convinced that aluminum is a good choice for hub housing. I can see the aluminum actually compressing a big behind the main fasteners.

The bolts that hold the cover on strip very easily. You can only hand tighten them. Even a 1/4" drive 10mm socket is too much force. So I tossed those fasteners and replaced them with stainless 1.5" fasteners and lock washers. There is more thread in there, why they didn't use it - dunno. Much better now.

The hubs come with a really failtastic gasket that they didn't even bother to cut holes in for you. Toss it and use a sealant.

The dial is easily misaligned during installation. It also easily falls apart. Putting it back together is not that hard but I found this annoying. The dial face also leaks gear oil out and water in, which didn't impress me much either.

As soon as I tried these hubs I knew I couldn't trust them so I ordered a set of Rugged Ridge hubs from Summit Racing. They are very similar in design; all of these aftermarket hubs are knockoff Aisins. The Rugged Ridge feel a bit sturdier.

Other than that the quality of the gears inside seems fine and I like the grey color. I will carry the other hubs as spares and see how it goes on the trail.

Edit: Steven at Rising Sun showed me a set of Aisin originals today. I have to say that its obvious that the above mentioned hubs are a direct copy of same. However the Aisin weigh almost twice as much and the switch is much snugger; doubt it leaks. As always, you get what you pay for..
