Well, Mr. Big O and Mr. KalTire looked at us as we came straight from an other planet. They had not even a clue which rim is the right one for this vehicle. Not even after they measured the bolt distance with their fancy tools.

By the way...Amercian Racing doesn't exist anymore.

Kal tire in Burnaby and Langley loved my Delica.

All you have to say when you roll into anyplace be it mechanic, transmission, oil, tires, etc.... tell them that it's a Montero with a van body. That's it.

Then you'll get somewhere.

If you call and say Delica or RHD, expect to get the shaft.

If you call and say you have a Mistu Montero, you get normal service.

Period.

In ref to Golf Carts comment - yes, the price they said was "about $60-65 per rim" - and Patty's figure sounds like taxes in from NSOR.
I only need a spare to match the 4 I have on - so they told me I'd have to take the rim off for their mechanic to measure to match perfectly.
I bought mine off Craigs - so only know they are Pro Comp Rockcrawlers - but not sure of the spacing etc.
Will have to do this sometime...but for now, I use one of my old American Racing wheels as a spare.

im running 31s on what im pretty sure are stock wheels (same as all the other delis wheels)

I have read this thread over many many times. Very informative. Thanks to all those that have given advice.

I used to work at a tire shop, but we focused on race car tires and rims so, so off road and back spacing are different to me (we used offset). I am thinking about new rims for the deli, and want to run my 235 for now then go the 30's but deffinatley want to have less offset then stock so that the rims stick out further, I find that the van is quite tippy offroad and would like to widden the stance and avoid liffting if possible. But still want the sliding door to open. I am not against the use of a sledge hammer or grinder to get the clearance I need.

So do you guys think that I should get a 15x7 or 15x8 rim with 4" backspacing?

As well as any advice on shocks that fit the stock locations would be great. ie Can I go to a parts store and ask for bilstiens that fit a 92 montero?

235 = tire width
30" is tire height

Too bad you missed the meet on Friday night. That would have been the place to make a choice on tire size, lift etc etc.

I think most are aware of this. Most people refer to the tire by these sizes. Other wise you'd be saying " yeah I'm , running 9.50's or I'v e got 75's on it!"

I was aware of the sizing just giving a quick reference to sizes. 235 would be width then the 75 means that the height of the tire is 75% of the tires width. I cant make the meets as I live in the East Kootenays.

The other question I had was about the suspension. I understand that it is based on the trooper but what years and how much is transferable? Shocks springs bushing joints torsion bars etc?

I see "oil" up there, but does that apply to oil filters? or just oil type? So I could just drive into Mr. Lube (prob not recommended) and say this is a 19xx Mitsu Montero and the oil filter would fit?

Having a 1993 delica, what years of Montero would apply?

p.s. I do always buy my oil filters from Mardy anyway, but i've been trying to get parts from him since May (they're on the way now - hopefully) and i'm kind of desperate for an oil change.
