Sliding Door 'Door Ajar' Light

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Sliding Door 'Door Ajar' Light

Post by Jordan »

My door ajar light for my sliding door has been on for the past couple weeks, is there a common problem with these to look for?
I took the interior panel off and playing with the switch behind the sliding door does nothing so I think the problem is further down the line.

If the "door ajar" light on your '93 Jasper is like the one on my '92 Chamonix ~ it is for all four doors (driver; passenger; slider & tailgate). Are you sure it is the slider?

Falco.

I agree with Falco sometimes on my Deli the back door does not close tightly causing the light to come on.

Happens to me, usually on colder days. It is always either the sliding door or the rear liftgate

The two prongs that make the contact have springs on them. If the spring is dirty or lost its tension the contact points may not actually touch.

No amount of playing with this will even make my mid cabin lights flicker.

EDIT April 5, 11: I guess it just didn't like that one cold snap, it was on for a couple weeks but went out when it got warmer and its been fine since.
