I am organizing a meet and excursion on Saturday June 18 (day before Fathers Day) at 11 am in the Canadian Tire Parking lot in Bracebridge. After an hour or so of chatting and connecting and going over each others vehicles, we can grab some lunch and then I will be going for a afternoon tour of some nearby back roads, and if anyone wants to join me that would be grand. Bring your vehicle, community good will, sense of adventure and your camera.
now that's what i called advanced waay ahead of time planning! i'll assume most guys posting here are guys and maybe dad's, and it's father's day weekend, should be an easy one to plan i'm hoping, lol.
got my eye on it.
cheers.
Yeah delicioso it is advance planning but I figured since we are quite spread out in this large province of ours that this would give us lots of time to plan. Plus I often work weekends so I wanted to make sure I was off.
Mr. Pistachio, Ottawa is quite the trip but think of how many moose you can spot when drive across Algonquin Park.
sa'll good, this is great! we should have our l400 long before then!
yeah, that's a nice drive across the 17 over algonquin park, if that's the route.
so, i guess be ready for camping/overnight if some are coming from afar?
surfhunter, you surfin the great lakes or what?! got a buddy that does the scarborough bluffs in the winter and his crew also frequent kincardine/lake huron area, and sometimes under the hamilton skyway bridge. crazy, anyway.
hoping this meet will be the start of many in s.ontario...if you build it, they will come!
I am severely interested in this, these roads you speak of, any of them possibly muddy, watery, trail goodness? I have a pajero and would love to keep up the ritual of exploring may be the youngest guy there so hope you dont mind if I tag along, closer to the date can you post an address to meet I would be coming up from toronto area
Of course all are welcome. Not sure what the trails will be like. I have driven part of them before and they are not that crazy, more like logging roads with some ruts and loose gravel. The route I am considering connects Hwys 118 and 117 and travels through Bigwind Lake Provincial Park.
Hopefully my wife and I can make it from London. We have a wedding to attend on the 25th on the other side of Michigan so we're undecided whether we just head that way the week before and do some exploring/camping there or not.
We'll keep a close eye on this thread and decide once it gets a little closer. I'd love to make a Deli meet in Ontario. It's been so long since my last Deli meet in Van (2008).
It would be cool to have you there but Bracebridge is definitely the opposite way from Michigan unless you are gonna head for the Soo and go around that way.
