NO BRAKES

Post by NoDelie »

Thank god for my tan interior. I went to stop at a red light hit the brakes a little harder than normal ( it was a short stop ) and bam pedal went to floor with very little resistance. Oh my god my pants are full . Made it through the light pulled to the side and had a look. It turned out the centre line on the back went . The one between the diff and body/frame went.

I now have one on order. This is what i found out . For an 89 you could use a 1991 Mazda B 2200 or1992 Mazda MPV. Or the 1989 Dodge raider. Mitsu montero. Most time this is not in stock it is a part very overlooked and you might want to check you center brake hose for cracking and have one on hand to replace it.

Funny how a $15 part can put your ride out of order.

Mine just went last week same situation slight spongie pedal for 2 days then "bang" no brakes

rear chassis to diff line

WAG F101012 or BH101012 got it out of montreal for 15.55 plus tax

or try rockauto.com and look up 3.0l montero rs and the parts will fit

alternatively at lordco/mopac you can replace the stock one with stainless braided line. $20 more but you'll never get that bang again. 8-)

glad to hear nothing bad happened. :M
