The Coolest Deli

On our current trip to Japan (Mar-Apr, 2011) we saw (in Nagasaki) what I think might be the coolest looking Deli - at least the paint job is nice. I am just wondering if I can import one to Canada with all the bits attached.
Haven`t seen too many while here, they must be all imported by now.Caught a glimpse of a newer Deli, didn`t impress me too much. Looked just like a family van at first glance. I will try to check one out in closer quarters if I get the chance.

I've seen a Hiace firetruck driving around, so I think that you can import the van as is. The newest Delica D:5 is awesome. If they are available in Canada, I would totally buy one.

We have since seen a few more Deli`s in Japan. Especially in the southwest. We will return in a few days but lately in the In-Law`s neighbourhood I saw these two Deli`s.

Saw this 90`s Deli Star Wagon (Camper) - pretty sweet. Sorry but I couldn`t seem to get a good interior shot. But you get the idea.
I believe it is a pop-top with roll out awning.

Also saw the new , talked about D:5 - I stick with my initial opinion. It looks just like any other big Japanese van (I actually saw one next to a Nissan Elgrand, Noah and a Toyota Voxy van).
Granted the above pic makes it look cool, but that is what marketers/advertisers do best.
When seen next to the local competition - it is nothing special.

With regards to the fire van, I did meet someone who got a fire truck (a Strada) and it still had all the 'accessories' attached. You'd have to take them off, or at least disconnect them, before you could put it on the road.

De-activated emergency vehicles in BC are 'stripped' before sold, although things like the upgraded suspension and transmissions in police vehicles are generally left in as it costs too much to swap them out.

The red one's nice! This raises a question I've had about just exactly what are the laws in Japan regarding "retirement" of vehicles, such as the ones we end up with here in Canada. Evidently some people park their cars in storage at some point & then sell them to Canadians after they've collected enough dust. I've heard various things such as "... they're not allowed to drive vehicles after they hit 100,000 ks." or "... after ten years..." etc.
Probably neither of those are actually true. But are there really any laws of this type in Japan and if so, what in fact are they?
